Skatopia is freedom. Though there is a cost, bands play for free. This is why we don’t have an entry fee. Instead you are able to have a vacation from the normal, a show with large attendance, damn good publicity, and have stories to tell if you can remember or survive.

It’s a Hunter S. Thompson Type of Chaos. If you want to survive, read this.

Skatopia is in the middle of nowhere. Once you pass the Exxon Station, and especially in Rutland city limits watch out for cops. The village has 401 people who want you to pay their bills with tickets. The village ends is only a few miles, and then the speed picks back up.

We have 88 acres.
You’ll figure it out. Popular places are tents, vans, tour buses, and love shacks.

You need to bring women, booze, instruments, and band members that don’t fear death. Concussion mortars, large (think forth of july) fireworks, and punks will be thrown at the stage. Enter at your own risk.

The stage equipment isn’t superb. Don’t expect the smoke free studio bullshit. It’s survived two fires and some nasty fucking crazy bitches.

Call and find out. New bands will be given Thursdays, and early evenings. Veteran and returning bands get better spots.

Destroy Everything, Dirty Southern Revolutionaries, FreakTent, and Green Jelly, get priority spots from combat loyalty. Headliners get 11pm, Midnight, or 1am when the party gets started. Bands play until 6am. Someone will be playing at 5am, you might be it.

I get it every event: “I know Brewce.“, “Fuck you, you’re just a sound guy.“, or “If we don’t play at this time, we’re leaving.”

Let me set the record straight: I book the show, I own and run the sound, and manage the event. Brewce and I talk every few days. At the event, he wants to skate and fuck shit up. Interrupt him if you’re suicidal. Otherwise his answer is, “Foo, do whatever you want.”

Remember it’s a vacation from all the bullshit.
